on behalf of Maren Lauritsdatter....

It is with tremendous sadness that I tell you of Bogart's passing this
evening. It was unexpected and he appeared fine up until almost the very
end. Extensive internal bleeding and probable cancer made it unlikely he
would live through a surgery that would only give him a few months more
suffering.  Beathog and Domhnall made the only possible choice and held
him as he left this world.

Someone stated tonight that he was everyone's dog, and he was definitely
that. He was everything that a dog should be and a lot of things that a
person should be. His passing has left a hole at Osd Cu Buidhe and in the
Cliar.

We will all miss you, Bo.

"Bogart was Domhnall's dog; there's no doubt
about that.  But, Bogart considered me his wet
nurse and, consequently, rarely left my side.   I
consider that to be a great compliment and rare
privilege.  I will love and miss this gentle beast
forever.  I have never known a greater friend or
had a truer companion."

Today, at 1:00 PM, my beautiful wife
left this earth.

"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.."

- Master Hroar Svithandi
"I am so saddened by the passing of Mistress Huette.  The times that I was able to talk
with her I always learned something and became greater friends.  I wish that I had more
time to have made it a much better friendship.  Both Denenwulf and I are indebted and
honored at the incredible gift that Huette and Hroar bestowed upon us this last May.
Without their support of the Bardic Arts, the Open Arms wouldn't be at GWW this year.
They gave us a "hall" which will always be dedicated to the memory of Mistress Huette.

She had told me, to my surprise, just how much the music and performances meant to
her and Hroar as they sat endlessly waiting to sell their wares.  I was surprised because I
never thought about the 'audience' that I couldn't see.  I only looked at the audience in
front of me.  It was an amazing insight that has changed my perspective.  I owe that to
Mistress Huette, too.

The music will go on and now I know that even though Mistress Huette will not be sitting
in front of the performers, she will be listening."
